When thinking about a lighting project for tunnels, you need to be aware of the visual impact that affects the driver when entering and exiting road tunnels. Problems with glare and contrast between light and shadow can affect the visibility of the vehicle driver who, influenced by the light outside the tunnel, can compromise safe driving and eye adaptation, preventing him from detecting any obstacle immediately in front of him and transiting and /or stop safely.
The entire project study was carried out based on the ABNT NBR 5181 standard – Tunnel lighting systems — Requirements that regulate adequate illuminance for entry and exit of tunnels, acceptable levels of glare, uniformity among other technical specifications, according to each classification of route and uses.
For this type of project, we use our Projectors from the Guaecá model CLG line, with a special lens suitable for each case, as it is a robust and shielded luminaire, which adapts to aggressive environments with the emission of gases, vapors and dust. As it is a tunnel project and is characterized by the intense flow of vehicles, the luminaire needs to be suitable for this type of situation. The Impact Degree (IK) is extremely important to withstand the constant vibrations of the track without damaging or compromising the useful life of the product. The projector from Conexled’s CLG line is the most suitable in these cases, as it has an anti-vibration device, ensuring the safety of those passing through the area and the stability of the piece after installation.
